🗺️ Terrain Summary
Lisbon is famously hilly, trams and lifts (elevadores) help but the city is challenging for limited mobility. The waterfront (Ribeira) and Belém area are much more accessible.
✅ Flat Areas
Parque das Nações (Expo area) is very flat and modern. Belém waterfront is excellent. Ribeira riverside walk is flat.
⚠️ Hilly / Challenging
Alfama, Bairro Alto, and Mouraria are all very steep with cobblestones. Even short walks involve significant elevation.
🚫 Areas to Avoid
Vintage trams (such as the 28), the steep alleyways and staircases of Alfama, and older Metro stations lacking elevator access.
