Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026 · Governed by English Law

By using GoTripAble you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

These terms comply with UK law including the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 (UCTA) and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1The service — what we do and don't do

GoTripAble is an information and search platform that provides accessibility-related data about travel destinations. We are not a travel agency, booking service, accessibility consultant, or medical advisor.

What we provide:

  • General accessibility ratings and notes based on research and user feedback
  • A search tool to help you filter destinations
  • Educational content about travel accessibility

What we do NOT provide:

  • Medical or accessibility advice tailored to your specific condition
  • Guarantees that any destination is suitable for you
  • Real-time verification of current accessibility features
  • Booking or travel planning services
  • Liability insurance or legal protection

2Accuracy & accessibility disclaimer (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

We aim to provide helpful information, but you must understand the critical limitations:

⚠️ Critical: No destination is 100% accessible or suitable for everyone

  • Accessibility needs are highly individual — what works for one person may not work for another
  • Destinations change constantly: facilities close, accessibility features are removed, staff practices vary, local policies change
  • Our information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate despite our best efforts to keep it current
  • Ratings and notes are subjective assessments and guides only, not verified facts or professional recommendations
  • We cannot independently verify all information from all sources
  • Weather, crowds, local conditions, staffing, staff training, and unexpected changes may affect actual accessibility
  • This service is provided 'as-is' without warranties of any kind

Your responsibilities: You must research destinations thoroughly, contact venues directly to verify current accessibility, assess suitability for your specific medical and accessibility needs, and make your own informed independent travel decisions. Never rely solely on GoTripAble data for accessibility decisions.

GoTripAble is a guide only and not a substitute for professional accessibility advice, medical consultation, or direct communication with venues.

3User responsibilities

By using GoTripAble you agree to:

  • Use the service lawfully and in good faith
  • Not scrape, copy, or redistribute our content or data
  • Provide accurate account and payment information
  • Not misuse or abuse the platform
  • Make your own independent decisions and not rely solely on GoTripAble for travel planning

You acknowledge that you have read these terms and understand them before using the service.

4Payments & searches

  • Searches may be purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis
  • All prices are displayed clearly before purchase
  • Purchased searches do not expire
  • Purchases are non-refundable unless required by UK law

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. GoTripAble does not store your card details.

Promotional & gifted search credits

  • GoTripAble may, at its sole discretion, gift free search credits to users for promotional, re-engagement, or referral purposes
  • Gifted credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred, exchanged, or refunded
  • GoTripAble reserves the right to withdraw, modify, or expire promotional credits at any time without prior notice
  • Misuse of promotional credits (e.g. creating multiple accounts to claim credits) will result in account suspension

4aReferral programme

  • GoTripAble operates an optional referral programme where registered users may share a unique referral link
  • When a new user registers via your referral link and uses the service, both parties may receive free search credits at GoTripAble's discretion
  • Referral rewards are subject to the gifted credits terms above — no cash value, non-transferable
  • GoTripAble reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral programme at any time
  • Fraudulent referrals (e.g. self-referral, fake accounts, automated sign-ups) will result in forfeiture of all credits and account termination
  • GoTripAble's decision on referral disputes is final

5Accounts

GoTripAble may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Abuse or misuse the service
  • Violate these terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

6Limitation of liability

⚠️ Liability Limitations (UK UCTA 1977 & Consumer Rights Act 2015)

  • Subject to mandatory consumer protections, GoTripAble excludes all liability for:
  • Any travel decisions, bookings, or outcomes based on our information or ratings
  • Inaccuracy, incompleteness, or changes to destination data after publication
  • Accessibility failures, injuries, illness, or incidents you experience while travelling
  • Loss of enjoyment, spoiled holiday, emotional distress, or disappointment
  • Any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages
  • Third-party services, bookings, or conduct (hotels, tours, transport, venues, local businesses)
  • Force majeure events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • Your failure to verify information independently or conduct due diligence

⚖️ Liability Cap: To the extent permitted by UK law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of GoTripAble shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service (or £0 if free).

UK Law Protections (non-waivable): Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (iii) breach of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; or (iv) any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

You accept sole responsibility for assessing destination suitability and all consequences of your travel decisions.

7Intellectual property

All content, branding, ratings, and data on GoTripAble (including destination guides, accessibility ratings, images, and reviews) are protected by copyright and belong to GoTripAble or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without written permission.

You may print or download content for personal, non-commercial use only.

8Health data, GDPR consent & medical liability

⚠️ Important — Special Category Data

Some features of GoTripAble allow you to select filters related to health conditions, disabilities, and accessibility needs. This constitutes special category data under UK GDPR.

By selecting these filters, you explicitly consent to GoTripAble processing this information solely for personalised search results. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing filters or deleting your account.

🏥 Medical Disclaimer: GoTripAble is not a medical service. We do not provide medical advice, treatment, diagnosis, or professional accessibility assessments. If you have specific medical or accessibility concerns, consult qualified professionals (occupational therapists, doctors, accessibility consultants) before travelling.

9Children, parents & carers — parental responsibility & liability

⚠️ Important — Travelling with Children

GoTripAble provides general guidance to assist parents, carers, and guardians when considering travel destinations and accommodation for children, including children with disabilities, additional needs, or complex medical conditions. This guidance does not constitute professional advice and parents and carers remain solely responsible for the safety and welfare of children in their care at all times.

Parental and carer responsibilities when using GoTripAble:

  • You accept full parental responsibility, as defined under the Children Act 1989, for all decisions made regarding the travel, accommodation, and activities of children in your care
  • GoTripAble's child-friendly ratings, buggy/pram accessibility scores, and family-focused notes are general guidance only — not safety certifications or guarantees
  • You must independently verify the suitability and safety of all accommodation, pool areas, balconies, room layouts, beach conditions, and local environments for your specific children before booking
  • You are responsible for assessing age-appropriateness, physical ability, medical needs, and any specific risks for your child
  • Our Accommodation Adviser's suggestions regarding child safety (e.g. swim-up rooms, balcony railings, floor surfaces) are offered as helpful prompts only — they are not exhaustive safety assessments, and we cannot guarantee any property meets your specific requirements
  • You must contact accommodation providers directly to verify child safety features, cot standards, pool supervision, emergency protocols, and proximity to paediatric medical facilities before booking
  • You accept sole responsibility for any travel decisions made for children in your care, including consequences of booking decisions based on GoTripAble data or AI adviser recommendations

⚠️ Children with Disabilities or Additional Needs

Where GoTripAble provides condition-specific notes for parents of children with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, neurodivergent conditions, or complex medical needs, these notes are AI-generated and research-based summaries only. They are not clinical assessments, professional accessibility audits, or guarantees of suitability.

  • Always consult your child's medical team, occupational therapist, or specialist before travelling
  • Verify all accessibility claims (hoists, Changing Places, pool access, medical proximity) directly with the venue
  • Ensure your travel insurance covers your child's specific conditions, equipment, medical repatriation, and carer costs
  • GoTripAble accepts no liability for any harm, distress, accessibility failure, or incident relating to a child during travel

UK Legal Framework

Parental responsibility for child safety while travelling rests entirely with the parent, guardian, or carer as defined under the Children Act 1989. GoTripAble is an information service only. Nothing in our platform, AI recommendations, ratings, or accessibility notes transfers, reduces, or shares this legal responsibility.

9aPregnancy — disclaimer, responsibility & medical limitations

⚠️ Important — Pregnancy-Specific Travel Information

GoTripAble provides general, research-based travel guidance for pregnant users. This information is not medical advice, is not provided by medical professionals, and does not take account of your individual pregnancy, trimester, medical history, complications, or clinical circumstances. Always consult your midwife, obstetrician, or GP before making any travel decisions during pregnancy.

What our pregnancy notes cover and their limitations:

  • General destination-level information about heat, terrain, toilet access, food hygiene, and medical facility proximity — not a clinical assessment of your individual pregnancy
  • Notes on Zika virus risk, malaria prophylaxis cautions, and food safety concerns are based on publicly available guidance from NHS, FCO, WHO, and CDC — not real-time health authority updates
  • Heat guidance reflects general climate data for the destination — not your specific tolerance, trimester stage, or pre-existing conditions
  • Hospital and A&E proximity information is approximate and may not reflect current obstetric or maternity provision at those facilities
  • Food safety notes reflect general country-level hygiene standards — not the specific establishments you will visit
  • All pregnancy notes are AI-assisted, research-based summaries generated in good faith using available data — they may contain inaccuracies and should never be the sole basis for travel decisions

⚠️ Your responsibilities when using pregnancy guidance on GoTripAble:

  • Consult your GP, midwife, or obstetrician before booking — particularly for long-haul travel, travel after 28 weeks, or travel to regions with known disease risks
  • Verify NHS Fit for Travel and FCO Travel Advice for your destination before departing: www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk and www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
  • Ensure your travel insurance explicitly covers pregnancy-related medical care, emergency delivery, premature birth, and neonatal care in the country you are visiting
  • Check airline policies on flying during pregnancy — most airlines restrict travel after 36 weeks (28 weeks for multiple pregnancies); policies vary
  • Verify that your chosen accommodation and resort facilities are suitable for your stage of pregnancy independently
  • If travelling to a destination with Zika virus risk, consult NHS guidance at www.nhs.uk/conditions/zika-virus before booking — Zika can cause serious fetal harm and the decision to travel is yours alone to make in consultation with your medical team
  • Seek specific medical advice regarding malaria prophylaxis safety in pregnancy — not all anti-malarial medications are safe during pregnancy

UK Legal Framework

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, GoTripAble does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. However, pregnancy-related travel guidance provided on this platform does not constitute professional medical advice and GoTripAble accepts no liability for any pregnancy-related medical outcomes, complications, adverse events, or travel decisions made in reliance on our destination notes. The Montgomery v Lanarkshire Health Board [2015] UKSC 11 principle of informed consent applies to medical decisions — you must discuss travel plans with your healthcare team and reach your own informed decision. GoTripAble is an information tool only.

Pregnancy notes are provided under special category data processing rules (UK GDPR Article 9). By selecting 'Pregnancy' as a search filter, you explicitly consent to GoTripAble processing this information solely to personalise your search results.

10User responsibility & acknowledgment (all users)

By using GoTripAble, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for assessing the suitability of destinations for your needs
  • You will independently verify all information before making travel decisions
  • You will contact venues, accommodations, and transport providers directly to confirm accessibility
  • You accept all risks associated with travel to any destination
  • You will not hold GoTripAble responsible for any negative outcomes, injuries, or disappointments
  • You understand that accessibility is subjective and highly individual

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use GoTripAble.

10aAffiliate links & commercial disclosures

GoTripAble may include affiliate links to third-party products and services (e.g. eSIM providers, travel insurance, booking platforms, accessibility tools) in destination guides, articles, and AI adviser recommendations.

📝 How affiliate links work:

  • When you purchase through an affiliate link, GoTripAble may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you
  • The product or service price remains identical whether you use our link or access it directly
  • We only recommend products we genuinely believe are helpful for accessible travel
  • Affiliate commissions never influence our destination ratings, accessibility assessments, or editorial independence

All affiliate links are clearly marked with disclosure language such as "Airalo affiliate link" or similar. If you have questions about whether a link is affiliated, please contact us at toolkitapp@mail.uk.

10cPremium subscription — cancellation & refund policy

GoTripAble Premium is a monthly rolling subscription charged at £5.99 per month. You may cancel at any time and your access will continue until the end of the current billing period.

📋 Important — No refund after access to premium content:

  • Once you have accessed premium content (condition-specific destination notes) during a billing period, that month's subscription fee is non-refundable
  • This is because digital content has been delivered and consumed, and under Regulation 13 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the right to cancel does not apply to digital content where performance has begun with your prior express consent
  • By subscribing and accessing premium notes, you expressly consent to immediate delivery of digital content and acknowledge that your statutory cancellation right for that billing period is thereby waived
  • If you cancel before accessing any premium content in a new billing period, you are entitled to a full refund for that period
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again after cancellation

Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. To cancel or request a refund, contact us at jacqueline.manning@gotripable.co.uk.

10bEmail communications & marketing opt-out

By registering for GoTripAble, you acknowledge that we may contact you by email for:

  • Service communications — account activity, purchases, and security notices
  • Re-engagement messages — notifications about new destinations, gifted credits, or platform improvements, sent on the basis of our legitimate interests
  • Promotional offers — occasional special offers or discounts

Unsubscribing: You may opt out of non-essential emails at any time by emailing toolkitapp@mail.uk with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line. We will honour all requests within 10 business days. Opting out of marketing does not affect your ability to use the service.

11How GoTripAble uses AI

GoTripAble uses AI as a tool to help organise, compare and explain travel suitability information. It is not a generic AI travel blog.

The platform combines multiple data sources, API integrations, destination research, accessibility-related criteria and lived experience to highlight practical issues that are often missing from standard holiday searches — such as walking distances, terrain, heat, toilet access, transfer stress, sensory load and suitability for different health or access needs.

AI helps process and present this information clearly, but the purpose of GoTripAble is human: to help travellers make more informed decisions before they book.

AI-assisted content is research-based and presented in good faith. It is a guide only and does not constitute professional, medical, or accessibility advice. Always verify information directly with venues before booking.

11aICO registration status

GoTripAble is not currently registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office).

The annual ICO registration fee for small organisations is £52. GoTripAble is operated by a genuine sole trader who will register and pay this fee as soon as it becomes legally required. There is no intention to avoid registration — simply no legal obligation to register at this stage of operation.

This section will be updated, including the registration number, once registration is completed.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes. Continued use of GoTripAble after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
